Review by Eye The cosmos conspires to teach Lindsay Lohan a lesson in Just My Luck, a slick but stupefying effort by veteran hack Donald Petrie, the go-to guy for brightly lit romantic piffle. If this film is slightly more tolerable than the director’s previous How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, it’s not because of anything Petrie has done: his style remains television-bland, with the camera moving only to traverse the expanse of Lohan’s legs and body whenever her character, the preternaturally lucky PR flack Ashley, makes a va-voom entrance at one of the various parties it is her job to attend. more.. Review by movieeveryday Just my luck, I arrived at the Silver City Metropolis Cinema just in time to miss the 7:30 p.m. showing of Just My Luck causing me to have to wait until the 10:15 showing—I guess the Canadians like to make sure there is time to really clean the theatres in between showings. Her films are falling into the category of “Sandra Bullock romantic comedy.” If you like them, you’ll most likely enjoy “Just My Luck.” However, if the mere sight of Lohan’s grinning mug makes you want to hurl, you’ll want to avoid this film. more..
