Sanjay Gupta films are known for style quotient and have often made good in musical markets. Once again hats off to Sanjay Gupta for giving us 10 stories in one film. Dus Kahaniyan is an episodic film about 10 different stories is join up of 26 actors, 6 directors, and 4 music directors for the first time in the Indian cinema.
Bollywood musical fraternity has got two new music directors with talent and promising results. The composers Gourov Dasgupta and Bappa Lahiri makes their debut with this album while experienced Anand Raj Anand and Paki pop sensation Shafqat Ali Khan delivered some good soundtracks. Another thing is the soundtracks are assorted in three versions – club, lounge and poetry and they are 26 original soundtracks (6-CLUB, 9-LOUNGE and 11 POEMS). The noted lyricist gulzar has given a good lyrics to the songs and also composer one of the story. Title song also has been a hot – shot trailblazers stuff.
The new singer Aanchal along with contemporary KK’s vocals creates a hoodlum of emotions in the film.. Sunidhi Chauhan gives a mesmerizing performance for dancing floors along with vivacious Aanchal as the effective background crooner. Mika Singh fails to materialize his recent success of “Mauja Hi Mauja” (‘Jab We Met’) while the music is simply average with routine arrangements were as KK delivers another bountiful of entertainment of sound track. The Pakistani pop sensation Shafqat Ali Khan created sensation in Bollywood with “Mitwa” (‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’) and now he refurbishes his career prospects by turning into composer with traditional Sufi soundtrack “Kaala Peela”. Bappa Lahiri, son of veteran composer Bappi Lahiri proves good with the album as he impresses all the way with soft calm feel of romanticism in the soundtrack “Mushkil Kushaa. Composer Anand Raj Anand is improvising with vocals and “Bhula Diya” and proves his merits both as composer and singer Finally the number of good kahaniyaan in DUS KAHANIYAAN dominated and that is what goes in its favour to be a hit which confirms us a not to be missed movie.
