Tansuhree Dutta, who was recently in Bangalore for a fashion show at a all, came away petrified and unhappy with the unruly city mobs.
“The crowd went berserk the moment I stepped out of the elevator and ried to get too close to me,” says Tanushree, who blames the lack of roper security arrangements for the crowd’s unruly behaviour. “The security arrangement was so bad that I had to literally fight my way to he stage. There was this guy who was trying to get hold of my hand and was constantly trying to avoid him. When he got too close, I just turned around and slapped him. He was shocked and I was petrified,” she ays.
She believes that had it not been for the lack of space and security rrangements, this incident might not have occurred.
“I have performed at various events and at different places. But othing like this happened to me before as the security has always been very tight at the places I have performed at. People pay an obscene mount to see the shows, and it’s the responsibility of the sponsors to see that everything goes well. The space here for the show was not sufficient and the crowd was unruly. Had I stayed five minutes loner, i’m sure the crowd would have broken the security barriers and no one could have done a thing. I was shocked and that’s why I left the stage,” she says.
Despite the incident, Tanushree has nothing against the city or its fans and would love to visit Bangalore whenever the opportunity arises.
“It’s that time of the year when people are still in a festive mood. And when fans see a star they tend to go overboard. I can’t blame the city or the fans for the incident. The organisers have to make sure that there are proper arrangements, especially when a female artiste has to perform. When you see incidents in which normal girls get harassed by crowd, what else can you expect from a mob when it’s a Star?” she asks.
