 Last night, Madhur Bhandarkar shot one of the most controversial scenes of his upcoming film Fashion, based on the infamous Carol Gracias wardrobe malfunction episode which happened at the Lakme Fashion Week, 2006.
Bhandarkar cleared the sets at Mehboob Studios, Bandra, while shooting the scene. Only Bhandarkar, his cinematographer and a couple of essential people were present at the shoot. Kangna sportingly did not use a body double.
Earlier reports said that model Mugdha Godse was cast as Carol, but obviously there seems to have been some change in plan. Our well-placed source gave us details of the shoot that took place last evening, saying, “Kangna was very cool about enacting the most telling scene of Fashion. She has a great comfort level with Bhandarkar and there were no problems.”
The story of Fashion goes that Kangna plays a top model who loses her position after the wardrobe alfunctioning incident. Later, Priyanka Chopra steps into her shoes, to occupy the top slot in the modelling industry.
When contacted, Bhandarkar refused to divulge too many details about the shoot. He said, “I don’t want to talk about it. It's a sensitive issue, and a sensitive scene.”
Kangna, however, doesn’t seem to have too many qualms about shooting bold scenes. Remember the scene where she takes off her knickers in Woh Lamhe and flings it on Shiney Ahuja’s face? That scene was based on Parveen Babi’s life. During the release of Woh Lamhe , Mahesh Bhatt had said, “There were times when Parveen would rip off her bra before going for a party.” The scene in the film was a testimony to this. Director Mohit Suri had taken some creative license with this. He had said, “Kangna was very comfortable shooting this scene. She is a very committed actor.” No doubt, Kangna will show her commitment in Fashion too.
