The movie ‘Vantage Point’ is about an incident that takes place during a major world event to fight against terrorism. The President of the United States (played by William Hurt) assembles a massive alliance of world leaders, to fight against global terrorism. In a huge outdoor press conference in Spain with the leaders in front of cheering crowds suddenly a gun shots rings out and the president goes down. After that sound, explosions echo with a blast, which is shown several times in the movie. The film worked due to its concept. The storyline has problem as the whole movie revolves around the assassination. Another big problem is that too many extraneous characters are added unnecessary. The movie seems well researched because the portrayal of the security protocol was pretty authentic. The performance of Dennis Quaid (secret service chief to the president of US) and Eduardo Noriega (undercover Spanish cop) is good, while other characters are average.
To conclude it is a mediocre story narrated in an interesting way and due to its seriousness and action the movie has captured the viewers. It failed to fulfill as a thriller movie due to its storyline.
