| Alyssa
was born on December 19th, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York.
Alyssa has a younger brother Cory who has acted in some
of Alyssa's movies (e.g. Double Dragon,1993). Alyssa
made her professional acting debut at age eight in the
role of July in the Tony-winning Broadway musical, "Annie".
She spent over a year playing the role in the tour before
returning to New York to appear off-Broadway in the first
American musical adaptation, "Jane Eyre" at the theater
Opera Music Institute, Wendy Wasserstein’s one-act Play,
"Tender Offer" at the New York Ensemble Theater, "All
Night Long" at the Second Stage and "Warning Signals"
at the Manhattan Theater Club. Child actress and model
Alyssa Milano rose to fan-magazine fame in the role of
Samantha Micelli on the TV series Who's the Boss ?
(1984-1992).
During the run of this series, Milano made her TV-movie
bow opposite no less than Sir John Gielgud in 1986's The
Canterville Ghost. She has acted along such actors
as John Candy, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Johnathan Silverman
of TV's "The Single Guy", Will Smith, Sean Astin, and
Christian Slater. Like many former child stars, Milano
has done her utmost to break her earlier image by appearing
in adult roles calling for heavy breathing and come-hither
glances: perhaps her most spectacular appearance along
these lines was in the role of the estimable Amy Fisher
in the the 1992 TV movie Casualties of Love: The Long
Island Lolita Story. According to those who keep tabs
on such things, Milano has lined up roles in "three or
four very adult movies". Her most recent movies were Fearwith
Reece Witherspoon and Hugo Pool with Malcolm McDowell.
In April 1997 Alyssa Milano joined Aaron Spellings Hit-Soap
"Melrose Place" where she played the role of Jennifer
Mancini. Beginning this October she'll star in Aaron Spelling's
new series "Charmed". |
