Somewhere they die, somewhere they kill. And yet they survive all odds. But sometimes the odds take away their spirit of survival. Soldiers have been an inspiration to many directors in the Bollywood film fraternity. From J.P Dutta to Mani Shankar, the efforts have always been sincere. Mani Shankar's last film 'Rudraksh' failed to create any impact at the box office. As to why films like Rudraksh fail, Mani Shankar asserts" I still can't figure out why the critics took swiping pot shots at the film... I admit I must have made some mistakes in the film. But I won't stop making the kind of films I believe in." And that is precisely why Mani Shankar has come up with his latest flick titled 'Tango Charlie'. Paying a tribute to our soldiers, the film has many special effects (which is a must in all Mani Shankar films).

Tango Charlie is a film about discovery. Indian Air Force helicopter pilots, squadron leader Vikram (Sanjay Dutt) and lieutenant Shezad Khan (Suniel Shetty) make a discovery that will change the course of their lives. Sitting in absolute wilderness, they find a number of dead bodies strewn like garbage from a can. And to their astonishment, they discover a hand reaching out to them. And despite of getting a no go sign from the head-quarters, they save the life that reaches out to them for help. They fight bad weather and in the process they find a diary. Struggling to keep the BSF soldier alive, the diary leads to further discoveries in the form of sepoy Tarun Chauhan. The diary unravels his life from the good moments to the bad ones, his love interest Lachchi(Tanishaa), his battles, his journey across life and the influence of his mentor; Havaldar Mohammad (Ajay Devgan) who is largely responsible in shaping Tarun Chauhan’s life.
Produced by Nitin Manmohan, the music of the film has been composed by Anu Malik. The lyrics are penned by Javed Akhtar. Tango Charlie will be another eye opener, where people will view the plights and hardships of soliders. So hold on to your seats and watch this film. It will make everyone see things differently.
